Holiday houses in Vieste (Gargano National Park) located right by the sea or overlooking the sea are the ideal solution for peaceful stays in contact with nature and the sea, among beaches, coves and hidden bays.

This holiday house consists of cosy rooms equipped with every comfort with the cordiality of a family run business that has cultivated the tradition of hospitality over time.

Key challenge

The only water resource is brackish well water (electrical conductivity of 10320 µs/cm) from an aquifer, with a water temperature of approximately 18°C. Following the well water sampling, the chemical physical and bacteriological analyses show non compliant values. In particular: chlorides equal to 3525mg/l, viable microorganisms at 22°C equal to 50 CFU/ml, viable microorganisms at 36°C equal to 39 CFU/ml and coliform bacteria microorganisms at 36°C equal to 39 CFU/ml and coliform bacteria equal to 46 CFU/1equal to 46 CFU/100 ml, as well as hardness equal to 114°F.00 ml, as well as hardness equal to 114°F.

Customer goal

Supplying private households without a direct connection to the Apulian aqueduct with water for drinking and cooking.

Solution

The homeowner commissioned Cristal Water Group S.a.s. to create a well water filtration and purification system.


The system proposed and installed at the facility is structured as follows:

New and innovative catalytic filtration produced with 82% magnesium oxide, 15% manganese dioxide and 3% calcium oxide. Its composition speeds up the oxidation process by precipitating contaminants. With an exceptional filtering capacity of 3 μ m, it can remove colour, odour, iron, manganese, hydrogen sulphide; it also reduces arsenic, zinc, copper, lead, radium, uranium and other radionuclides and heavy metals.

The UV lamp is capable of neutralizing 99.9% of bacteria in water. UV C radiation, with a wavelength in the 240 to 280 nanometre range, attacks the DNA of bacteria, viruses and microorganisms.

The antiscalant, dosed with a metering pump, controls and inhibits the precipitation of salts such as calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate and magnesium hydroxide.

The Aquaphor Professional APRO HP 750 osmosis unit nominally achieves 750 liters per hour at a temperature of 25°C.

The demineralizing product based on calcium chloride, dosed with a metering pump, reintroduces in a balanced manner certain components that are indispensable for the organism, in particular sodium, calcium, chlorides and carbonates, which are the elements naturally present in water and which make it pleasant and chemically naturally present in water and which make it pleasant and chemically complete for human use.
